Wellness Wednesday: Involve Your Kids! πŸ˜Š

Happy Wednesday friends. One of the things so many people struggle with is finding time to be healthy. Often, it’s because they’re juggling work and family and other commitments, and before they know it, they’re passing out on the couch at 9pm, exhausted. One thing is for certain, there are 24 hours in a day. We aren’t going to find any more! 😜 So it’s about working with what you have, and doing the best with it. I personally find that if I leave working out til the afternoon or evening…it NEVER happens.  Something ALWAYS comes up, especially work related stuff. It may work for some individuals, depending on their schedules, but especially for parents…the morning is an awesome time to excercise, for several reasons. It starts your day off on an awesome note- by the time you leave the house, you’ve already been healthy! It also kick starts your metabolism for the entire day. And there is nothing that “pops up” that prevents you from getting your work out in later (i.e.- conference calls, fires that you have to put out at work, kids after school activities, etc). However, if a little munchkin happens to wander into your work out space…INCLUDE THEM! Obviously, depending on their age…keep them out of harms way if you’re jumping around or have weights, equipment that could roll, etc…but can you think of a more kick ass example to set for your kids!?! My little guy loves “working out” with me in my studio (he’s 3 1/2) 😜 He gets all the equipment out (and I mean all), he rolls a mean yoga mat, does a spot on down dog, and flexes his muscles like it’s his job. But bottom line, he knows that health and wellness and fitness are priorities in my life, and even though he’s little…he gets it, and it’s already showing in the things he loves to do. Plus it’s an awesome way to bond with your kiddos. So if you’re not in the habit of working out in the am…try it. It usually takes 2 weeks of doing something consistently to form a habit. Try getting up 45 min before you usually do, and get a 30-min workout in. I am a huge fan of Beachbody on Demand, and also most OnDemand TVs offer a library of fitness videos…all of which you can do right in your own home, and at your level of fitness. I’m happy to give feedback or answer any questions in that regard…I’m a huge fan and it’s made a big impact in my life…and it’s a time saver! Have a great day, be well, and hug your kids β€οΈπŸ™πŸ’ͺ
